Pomellina Fregoso

Pomellina Fregoso or Pomelline Fregoso (Genua, 1387/88 – Monaco, 1468), was a lady consort of Monaco, married to Jean I of Monaco. She served as the regent of Monaco from 1457 until March 1458 as the guardian of her granddaughter, Claudine, Lady of Monaco.

She was a member of the Fregoso (or Campofregoso) noble family of Genua, who included several doges of Genua among its members. Her father was the Doge Pietro Fregoso (?–1404), and her mother was either Theodora Spinola or Benedetta Doria. Her spouse was at one point taken captive by the duke of Milan, who threatened to kill him if the power Monaco was not turned over to him. She managed to secure the release of her husband and still keep its independence. She became the mother of Blanche del Caretto (d. 1458).

In 1457, she became regent as the guardian of her granddaughter Claudine. Her regency ended upon the abdication of Claudine the following year.
